Les Alpes

Hello! I can't believe we're back in grey and drizzly England after spending 10 wonderful days in the French Alps. We stayed in a gorgeous ski resort town called Morzine and this is the view from our balcony.

Morzine view

We have never been anywhere like this before but Steve was keen to try out some Alpine golf and we both love walking in beautiful countryside, and you can't get much more beautiful than this -

Morzine scenery

I overcame a big fear and went up in both a cable car and a ski lift and I thought "if I'm going to do it, lets do it big!" so we went to the top of Mont Blanc up the Aguillere du Midi. This is the fabulous view from the top and its only 5 degrees up there!

We stayed with the lovely Richard, Karen and baby Norah in the Chalet Quatre Vents in Morzine and had the loveliest time - they are great hosts and the food Karen cooked for us was superb! The rooms were really lovely and Richard & Karen couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome - not least of which was the provision of a hot tub out on the terrace!

We celebrated our 7th Wedding Anniversary whilst we were away and had a special day out over the border in Switzerland, visiting Gstaadt, which is a very beautiful town -

I'll upload a few more pics in the next blog, but it really was the most beautiful place to be!

Fabulous photos Tina.Stunning scenery. I spent a lot of my teenage summers in the mountains (Austria, not France)and loved every minute of it. I'm trying to get Graham to sample alpine life but as he doesn't fly we might be in for a very long drive!
